Philippe A. Stiernon – Managing Director

Philippe is the Managing Director at ROAM Capital, the leading Latin American Placement Agent exclusively focused on Private Equity and other Alternative Investments. His investor base includes some of the largest institutional and private investors from around the globe, including Latin America's leading pension funds, insurance companies and family offices. He manages all core fund-marketing mandates and spearheads relationships with prospective LPs on behalf of his clients.

Philippe's background is in wealth management, alternative investments and private equity. Prior to ROAM, Philippe served as Co-Head of Investor Relations at Teka Capital, a Latin American private equity fund based in Bogota, Colombia. He also served as Director of Investor Relations at a hedge fund in London and spent five years working for Merrill Lynch's Private Wealth Management division helping ultra-high net worth clients structure and invest their wealth, particularly with respect to their alternative investment allocations. Philippe graduated from Georgetown University with a BSBA in Finance and International Business and also holds an MBA title from Georgetown University-ESADE School of Business where he graduated with distinction. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

Philippe is also an active volunteer of the Genesis Foundation and GEMBA Legacy, two important charities dedicated to serving the health, educational and recreational needs of underprivileged children in Colombia.

Juan Antonio Jaramillo - CFO / Chief Operating Officer

Juan Antonio joined ROAM Capital in 2017 and serves as CFO / Chief Operating Officer for the firm. He’s in charge of all financial and operating matters, including compliance and 'day-to-day' administrative related activities firmwide.

Prior to ROAM, Juan began his career at Fitchratings, the leading Rating Agency in Colombia, determining the market and credit risk ratings of approximately 80 fixed-income funds with over US 5bn under management. After this Juan joined the Investment Banking team of the largest banking conglomerate in Colombia (Grupo AVAL, NYSE: AVAL) where he spent 5 years as an Analyst and Director developing and structuring several IPO´s, valuations, bond issuing and project financing transactions in excess of US 2bn for both private and public companies in Colombia, including financial modeling, market and legal advisement throughout the transaction process.

He then joined Correval (Now part of the Peruvian Credicorp Group, NYSE: BAP), the largest Investment Bank in Colombia as an Associate and VP of Investment Banking in which he focused on Infrastructure Project Finance and DCM in the Colombian market, successfully closing more than US 2.5bn in transactions, including the largest bond issuance in the Colombian debt equity market for SAB Miller (now AB InBev). He is a business graduate from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.

Felipe Botero, CFA – Head of Research

Felipe joined ROAM Capital in 2016. He is in charge of conducting due diligence on potential private equity funds as well as monitoring and benchmarking those that are already part of the firm's platform. Additionally, he is responsible for performing periodical research tasks on the private equity industry, generating comparison reports as well as ranking managers based on the firm’s proprietary grading methodology.

Previously, Felipe worked for J.P. Morgan's Asset Management division in New York advising UHNW families and individuals in the construction, implementation and management of investment portfolios. During his three year tenor at this division he had close interaction with J.P. Morgan's alternative investments platform which is one of the largest of its kind ($150 billion in AUM) and which offers clients access to third party managers, spanning the full range of strategies including hedge funds, private equity, debt and real assets. Prior to that he worked for two years in J.P. Morgan's Sales & Trading desk in Bogotá covering the largest and most sophisticated institutional and corporate investors in Colombia.

Felipe holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración (CESA) where he graduated first in his class. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society New York*.

Mario Sierra - Senior Associate

Mario is a Senior Associate at ROAM Capital Inc., he has eight years of experience in investment banking and five years in private equity. Previous to his enrollment at ROAM Capital, Mario worked for five years at MarketGrader Corp., an independent stock research company with offices in Miami and New York with clients such as Merrill Lynch and UBS. He also worked as a Senior Investment Banking Analyst at Ultraserfinco S.A., Comisionista de Bolsa, where he participated in several transactions such as: syndicated Loans, M&A and IPO projects worth upwards of $850 million. Mario also, structured the two first private equity funds managed by the firm, where then he was promoted to manage those funds. Among his several duties while working in the PE sector, Mario raised USD$50 million from pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and high-net worth individuals. He also participated in countless investment committees and spearheaded sourcing and investments.

Mario holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Andreas School of Business at Barry University, he also holds an advance degree in finance from the Sergio Arboleda University and an advance degree in real estate law from Javeriana University.
